as it turns out, i won't able to go to iBLOG today even if i wanted to for i am completely. wiped. out. random organizer babbling found here. ) the next two weeks are going to kill me in degrees.

the sudden (shallow) interest in TRINITY BLOOD vis-a-vis my waning devotion to the roman catholic faith has sparked a meandering conversation with myself (i'll leave off the schizophrenia cracks till later). it was mostly about my not-quite-vehement-but-getting-there opinions on the hyperconservative stance of cardinal josef ratzinger-nee-pope benedict xvi, a vast majority of which were along the lines of "ohmigodzepopeequalseviloverlord!!111!oneone" and "is it the dark ages yet?!".

however for the sake of rethoric, let's say the scenario portrayed in TRINITY BLOOD were true, and the vatican was able to subjugate all world powers, establishing itself as empire of the world and protectorate of the masses. would that mean that the pope, in his position as holy roman emperor, would be willing to establish an order of gun-toting priests whose sole mission was to protect the faith, by any means necessary?

he'll need it of course, to subdue separatists movements and other forms of heresy, although i wonder what sort of dogma he would use to justify the use of heavy armaments. also, what would be the composition of this order of soldier-priests? liberals are more open to the idea of packing guns and shooting someone in the head, but the risk of these priests using their training and position to wage war against the vatican is higher than, say -- conservatives.

conservatives on the other hand are more loyal to the faith, but their fealty could be their biggest weakness, as it could potentially backfire and: 1) they will refuse to take lives, or 2) they will refuse to take orders from anyone other than the holy farking trinity. then again there is a third alternative, and this occured to me when i recalled somebody's offhand comment that there exists in manila an orphanage were all the young wards are illegitimate children of priests and the occasional nun. problem solved.

our soldier-priests will wear black leather habits. because blood wipes off leather.
